Celebrate summertime on the water and join in on the fun of the fastest growing water sport in the world by coming on a Stand Up Paddleboard adventure with us! Parry Sound is the gateway to Georgian Bay and we are your Stand Up Guides to show you our home waters.
We offer daytime or evening sunset tours on Georgian Bay. If the weather it too windy for a tour on the Bay we paddle on the calm waters of the Seguin River in Parry Sound.
All of our guides and instructors are Paddle Canada Certified and ready to take you on the water for an adventure you’ll truly enjoy. You don’t have to have any experience, our friendly guides will show you the way.
Length 2 – 2.5 hrs
Cost $75/person
You can choose either a day trip or an evening sunset paddle. Tours are booked upon request.

Stand Up Paddleboard Lessons
Private and Semi-Private lessons are our specialty – these can be 1-2 people or up to 6 in a private group, with one instructor. Let us customize your experience to best suit your abilities or to find the prime time and location for you to try this amazing sport for the first time! Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga
Imagine the joy of bringing your yoga practice onto the water! SUP Yoga will tone your core, build your stability and provide you with a fun learning environment to play and have fun with your practice outside the studio. On the water, we will flow and move while floating and enjoying all the elements of the wilderness surrounding us.
Combining breath with movement, you’re sure to find moments of fun, laughter and focus while moving with the water on your board.
Private yoga SUP classes upon request on the Seguin River or at a location of your choice. All of our SUP yoga instructors are Paddle Canada certified as well as Yoga Alliance certified.
Private classes are 60 minutes in length and require a minimum of two students.
Classes are $25/participant and are located at 6 Harmony Lane, Parry Sound, ON.

Paddle Canada Certification Courses
Paddle Canada Basic Sup Skills
Whether you’re paddling for the very first time or have rented a couple times and now want to learn the most efficient way to paddle – SUP Basics is the class for you! Our Paddle Canada certified team of instructors will teach you everything from how to enter/exit the water safely to proper turning techniques to make your paddling experience a memorable one. We want every student to have the best experience on the water and will adapt our lessons to meet your needs and whatever the weather brings! **Lessons will run rain or shine – should the instructor deem the lesson conditions unsafe – at which point the lesson will be rescheduled for the next available time/day.
Typical course length is 2-3 hours. Minimum two students is ideal. This course will be registered with Paddle Canada should you choose to take further instruction and courses.

Paddle Canada Advanced SUP skills
This Advanced SUP Skills Clinic is designed for someone who has paddled several times both with a lesson and/or on their own and are now ready to refine their skills and learn more advanced ways to navigate their board on the water. You will leave this program feeling confident in your basic skills while introducing more advanced SUP strokes and a focus on smart decision-making skills on the water. SUP Skills is designed for groups and includes one on one coaching on technique, efficiency and style.
Typical course length is 2-3 hours. Advanced Flatwater SUP Skills can be combined with Basic Sup into a single course of 4-6 hours or more. Minimum two students is ideal.
This course is a pre-requisite to becoming a Paddle Canada Basic SUP Instructor and will be registered with Paddle Canada.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I get Wet?
YES – when stand up paddling or doing SUP Yoga you will get your feet, up to your knees wet and even your hands will get wet.
What should I wear?
There is always a chance you may fall in the water so consider what fabric your clothes are made from – quick dry is best NO COTTON!!!
Where do we meet for lessons?
For paddles on Georgian Bay, meet at the Salt Docks in Parry Sound, Ontario
For paddles on the Seguin River, meet at 6 Harmony Lane, Parry Sound

How will I find you?
Look for the big Stand Up Paddleboards! In some cases they may be a variety of colours. Also look for our friendly instructor who’s ready to take you on to the water!
What to leave at home or locked in your vehicle?
- Cell phone
- Camera – unless waterproof
- Expensive sunglasses
- Watch
- Pretty much anything you do not wish to donate to the water
*Ontario Sea Kayak Centre and it’s instructors are NOT responsible for lost or stolen items while on the water or left in vehicles.
What to bring?
- Towel
- Change of clothes
- Protective sun gear, long-sleeved shirt, hat, tether for your sunglasses
- Footwear that can get wet, you must wear footwear at all times.
- Water Bottle and snack
- An adventurous spirit!
We will bring along dry bags for you to put your towel and snack in. We cannot guarantee our bags our waterproof enough for your phone or car keys if they have a key fob.
Do I need to wear a wetsuit?
A wetsuit is NOT required for this activity between June-September.
If you own a wetsuit and feel you will be cold on/in the water you are welcome to wear one.

What if I can’t swim?
ALL participants must be able to swim; what this means is you must be comfortable if you fell off your board that you can make it back to your board and get back on with instruction and assistance from your guide. You will be wearing a life jacket which is provided to you, at all times.
Do I need to wear a PFD?
A Canadian Coast Guard approved PFD (Personal Floatation Device) will be provided to you for your lesson as well as a whistle and a board leash.
**Transport Canada requires every Stand Up Paddler to have a PFD & whistle on their board when paddling
Ontario Sea Kayak Centre Instructors and Guides are all Paddle Canada Certified – you will be asked to sign this [Hyper linked] waiver at the start of your lesson.
What if it rains?
Lessons will still run in light rain/wind.
Lessons will ONLY be canceled the day of if conditions are not conducive to the participant’s safety. *See Refund/Cancellation Policy
Ontario Sea Kayak Centre is committed to offering the highest quality lessons and will always contact you in advance should the weather not be ideal for your excursion/lesson and re-schedule as needed.
What if I don’t have my own board/paddle?
Ontario Sea Kayak Centre provides board and paddle rentals with all lessons – all the equipment required will be provided for you.
*You will be responsible for any damage to the equipment rented from Ontario Sea Kayak Centre – if an item is unusable when returned you will be charged the Full retail rate less 30% to replace the damaged item. For small repairs, a quote will be provided (For Example small repairs run $25-$150)
When we do SUP Yoga how do I not float away?
Ontario Sea Kayak Centre will provide you with an anchor to take on the water with you. When we have found the ideal place to set up to practice on the water you will be instructed on how to lower your anchor and set up for an awe-inspiring view for your yoga practice!
